COURSE CONTENT

The 10-week seminar "Art in Hegel's Thought" will address art in its ontological context as adapted from Hegel's logic, while also seeking to offer participants clues to contemporary art. By outlining the framework of Hegel's aesthetics through readings of excerpts taken directly from Hegel's texts, the seminar will question the changes art undergoes today and the transforming aesthetic categories, and toward the end will present a holistic approach in which the theoretical framework is put into practice through readings of works of art.
